Facility #1
Challenges:
- Multiple operating rooms and endo locations off-line (and thousands of back-logged cases) due to anesthesia staffing challenges post covid
- High internal turnover of CRNAs and work-life balance challenges
KREWE’s Solutions
- Operating Rooms: Provided coverage to allow for client to ramp up additional rooms
- Endo: Provided coverage to ramp up Endo locations and clear thousands of backlogged cases by bringing in CRNAs that specialize in Endo
- Efficiency: Increased efficiency with endo-only CRNAs (e.g., from 8-9 cases per day to 12-13 cases per day) while lowering bill rates in endoscopy
- Engagement: KREWE CRNAs stabilized the full-time W2 CRNA staff, creating an appropriate work-life balance and substantially reducing turnover
Facility #2
Challenges:
- Previous anesthesia group was unable to come to an agreement. Entire staff (10 FTEs) needed to be replaced on short notice
KREWE’s Solutions
- Ensured continued 100% anesthesia coverage when anesthesia management company departed
- Provided 24/7 coverage with less than a one-month notice
- Manage the schedule to ensure coverage
- Implemented a reduced rate cost-saving contract while continuing to provide 24/7 guaranteed coverage
- Eliminated overnight coverage with less expensive call coverage (savings of 2 FTEs)
Facility #3
Challenges:
- Independent group running OB Department departed in addition to OR shortages; need for a turnkey solution to staff OB department 24/7 and OR 5 FTE
KREWE’s Solutions
- Seamless transition from anesthesia management group to CRNA coverage of OB Anesthesia with 24/7 continuous coverage using lowercost resources
- KREWE also effectively manages the entire CRNA OB Schedule
- provided 5 FTE to OR
- eventually decreased OR needs to 4 FTE by using OB team to help cover breaks/lunches/quick cases
Facility #4
Challenges:
- New construction hospital part of large network in need of quick ramp-up, but lack of CRNA resources jeopardized timeline to get hospital up and running
KREWE’s Solutions
- Allowed client to open anesthesia locations as the surgery schedule grew with the flexibility to schedule CRNAs on the days and times they were actually needed
- Managed schedule to ensure appropriate coverage
Facility #5
Challenges:
- Need to replace high-cost national staffing company in order to reduce costs
KREWE’s Solutions
- Replaced high-cost national name staffing company with a lower cost, higher quality alternative
Facility #6
Challenges:
- Need for CRNA on short notice. Ideally, someone who is willing to float between facilities as the person may not be needed full-time. Alternative is to shut down an operating room
KREWE’s Solutions
- Provided a cross-credentialed CRNA willing to float to other hospitals on a daily basis, which allowed client to avoid shutting down an operating room and appropriately manage costs

Challenges:
- Large teaching institution; perpetual Locum needs but not being completely filled despite a number of other “big” companies on board for years.

- Placed 10 full-time CRNAs on long-term contracts in the past 9 months (the majority of which were placed within weeks of initial request)

Challenges:
- Large hospital switching anesthesia groups from all MD Anesthesia Model to majority CRNA on tight timeframe

- Placed 11 full-time CRNAs on long-term contracts in the past 9 months (the majority of which were placed within the last 120 days in connection with the change to new anesthesia management group)
